Unable to login to P5 after Synology DSM update
Posted by Andre Kuehnemund on 22 August 2017 15:17

Customer:

"We updated the DSM. Since the update, we can't log in to the web interface of the P5."

Solution:

- Stop P5

- Rerun the install.sh script in the P5 installation folder, choose to configure P5 and accept the defaults. Restart P5 when done.

Background:

P5 uses PAM to authenticate users. Updating the Symnology DSM software clears the PAM configuration. Rerunning the P5 install script reconfigures PAM.

It depends on how you install P5. If you install P5 using the P5 installer for Linux (awpst5xx.tgz), then you're free to install P5 more or less wherever you want to. The suggested path is '/usr/local/aw'. If you use the Synology package installer (.spk), then P5 is installed somwhere on the Synolog volume. I donät have access to one right now, so I can't give you the exact path, but from what I remember, you can click on the installed P5 icon in the Synology store and it gives you a list of all installed files along with their path.
