Using Active Directory (AD) domain user accounts to login to P5
Posted by Andre Kuehnemund on 26 February 2018 19:22
When trying to use AD logins with P5, please note the following:

It is not possible to specify a domain name in the P5 login mask. P5 will check whether a user is local to

the machine or is a user of the same domain as the host itself. User accounts belonging to other domains are not acceptable.

We do not use AD in-house, but have tested AD functionality with P5. Using this Microsoft Technet blog article:

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/canitpro/2017/02/22/step-by-step-setting-up-active-directory-in-windows-server-2016/

... we configured an AD domain called 'rebeladmin', along with two user accounts ('Administrator' & 'andrek').

To login to P5, we had to use either 'Administrator' or 'andrek' along with the respective account password.
