Deploying B2GO is pretty straightforward: Use ARD to push the workstation installer package to all your Macs. Then simply on each workstation execute the following Unix command: /usr/local/aw/bin/nsdchat -c Server configure host port user pass [templateid]
where: host is the IP address or domain name of your backup server
user is the username of an user that you would like to use for backup
pass is the users password templateid is the B2GO template ID (if the template ID is omitted, the generic template is used). This command can also be used to update username and password on the workstations in case the account data on the server changed. Please test the parameters you plan to use in the mass deployment with a workstation via GUI. The process is complex and the command will not pass back detailed error information. Before issuing the above command, make sure the generic template ( in the Workstation Groups section on the B2G Server) is enabled. The command requires that the template where the Workstation belongs to (the generic template for new workstations) allows the connection. | |
