Presstore on Linux ext4 mount options

Your mileage may vary. Use at your own risk!

A customer has reported that tweaking the mount options of ext4 volumes greatly enhanced performance of his Presstore system running on Linux with an ext4 file system.

Customer feedback:

"... I have 14 HDD with a ATTO Raid controller.
First thing is I migrated from RAID 6 to RAID 10. It improved performance for DB purposes.
But iostat still showed me disk utilization closer to 100%.
Second trick was modify to mount options. I use ext4, instead of default settings I use

noatime,data=writeback,barrier=0,nobh,errors=remount-ro

I found a good article on the web:
http://blog.smartlogicsolutions.com/2009/06/04/mount-options-to-improve-ext4-file-system-performance/
Here you can read in detail about this running.

Last one optimization boosted my system by about 10-15 times!!!"
