Checklist: - Group: The P5 client and the directory in which the data to be archived is in (i.e. its parent folder) must be entered in the group preference settings. - User: The P5 Companion user must be added to the above group. - Archive plan: The previously configured group must be entered here.
Example 1 - Network Share:
- Data to be archived is located: -> On the local P5 Server, exported via SMB protocol -> Exported path: '/data/shares/vol1’ - Configuration on P5 Server: -> Group Preferences: Add the path '/data/shares/vol1' for P5 client 'localhost' -> User Preferences: Add above referenced group -> Archive plan: Add above referenced group - P5 Companion on Mac -> Server: IP Address and port of the above referenced P5 server (e.g. '127.0.0.1) -> User: Username and password of the above referenced user (e.g. 'admin') -> Archive plan: Plan ID of the above referenced archive plan (e.g. '10001)
One can then drag any one or more subfolders of '/data/shares/vol1' into the Archive tab of the P5 Companion App - but NOT '/data/shares/vol1' itself. Doing the latter would result in 'Could not find "/data/shares/vol1"'.
