During the autodetection of drives and changers, it sometimes happens that the drives are mapped in a wrong order, especially when configuring Fiber-Channel devices. The media changer accesses drives by their physical position, whereas PresSTORE "sees" them by their logical address on the line. In case the drives are not mapped correctly, the media cannot be mounted because they get transported to one drive and the attempt to mount them is done on another. When using this utility, please follow these steps:
PresSTORE will then move the tape to each drive and attempt to mount it in order to check and/or change the configuration.
Note: In PresSTORE 4, it is recommended to simply delete and re-add the jukebox, followed by a mount inventory. This procedure is considerably faster and also fixes the erroneous drive mappings. | |
